Radiology

Dental radiographs are used for several reasons, some of which are to find hidden dental structure, hidden masses, cavities, or even bone loss. CBCT stands for cone beam computed tomography. It is a special x-ray machine that is used to produce 3D images of the teeth, soft tissue, nerve pathways and bone, all in one scan, which allows for more precise treatment planning.

Because of the radiation exposure during your CBCT imaging procedure, you are required to remove any metal objects on you, including jewellery, piercings, eyeglasses, hairpins, dentures and any other objects that may compromise your scans or your health. You will be asked to put on a lead shield to protect the rest of your body from unnecessary radiation. It is very important to tell your doctor if there’s a possibility you are pregnant.

We offer radiology consultations and present you with a radiographic report along with your scans. For your convenience, same day appointments are usually available.
